Ms. Ann Coulter,

I quoted you in red as show below.

She was first deported on August 1997.  She sneaked back in on or about August 30, 1997.

“Despite living in this country illegally for a decade, Arellano hasn't mastered the most rudimentary English. She doesn't want to assimilate and become a "Mexican-American." She wants to be a Mexican-Mexican living in and off America.”

If that was 100% true, so what?  Is mastering a language per unit of time a measure of the wants to assimilate? How are you able to conclude she wants to live off America?

“So far, the only thing Arellano has contributed to America is one illegitimate child.”

Why you say her son is an illegitimate child?  Is this statement a moral opinion of yours?

“The Democratic Party is in the fight of its life against a conservative demographic trend. Its only hope is to gerrymander America to make the poorest half of Mexico a state. Only a massive influx of criminals, wards of the state and rioters can save them.”

How can the massive influx of criminals, wards of the state and rioters able to vote for the Democratic Party?  How can that be possible?

Listen Ms. Ann Coulter, I am very fond of you 99.999% of the times.  I like and enjoy a lot the sharpness and inquisitiveness of your pen.  Here in this column you twisted the truth.

I do not apologize for illegal aliens, I do not want them residing here illegally either.  I am absolutely convinced that there are sides trying to politically profit from the misfortune of Elvira Arellano.  Let leave this poor women alone.

Let invest all of our anger and frustrations toward finishing the border fence, implementing an ABSOLUTE BORDER control system, punish severely those that lure these poor people to sneak in by employing them for their cheap labor.  Let implement guidelines and procedures that will improve the interface and collaboration between inter-government agencies and law enforcement at local, state and federal level and implement a tamper proof biometric Tax ID for everyone working here.

Yes, 1 down and 11,999,999 more to go, but let go about it humanely and by attacking the roots of the illegal immigration problem instead of stripping off this huge tree leaf-by-leaf of just the few leaves that are reachable (identifiable, i.e., we know who and where they are).  Otherwise, it will take over 12 million years to strip this tree.

Let set the record straight

Let set the record straight from what I've collected since Nov. 2006.

Elvira Arellano, 32 years old women from Michoacán, Mexico, is certainly an amazing human being.

On August 1997, Elvira entered illegally to the US, was arrested, deported by the US Government, and few days later (on or around August 30, 1997) she illegally re-entered to the US and settles somewhere in Oregon for 3 years.

In 1998, she gave birth to Saul Arellano; her son is by birthplace a US Citizen.  Currently, we do not know much what she did for a living during her 3 years in Oregon, or about Saul’s father.  According to some sources, Saul was born on December 18, 1998 in Toppenish, Washington.  Saul’s unknown father abandoned his mother when she was 3 months pregnant with him.

In 2000, Elvira moved to Chicago, Illinois and made her living as an airplane cabin cleaner at the O’Hare’s International Airport.  She used the social security number belonging to an old woman to get this job.

In 2002, a post 9/11 personnel screening at the airport yield with her arrest, convicted for using a social security number belonging to an 82 years old woman from Milwaukee, Wisconsin in order to obtain her employment, and sentenced to 3 years probation.  Illinois State Laws allowed Elvira to reside legally in the State.  The US Government has allowed her to remain on US soil for short time periods.  The US Government has extended these periods a couple of times upon request of Congress legislators and civil leaders in their hope on pending private legislation pardoning and legalizing her residential status.

On August 15, 2006, Elvira failed to appear before immigration authorities and seek refuge at the Adalberto United Methodist church located at 2716 West Division, Humboldt Park area of Chicago to avoid arrest and deportation.

On November 14, 2006, Elvira’s son, Saul Arellano went to Mexico City to appear before the Congreso de la Unión de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, that is, the Mexican Congress.  The Mexican lawmakers issued a resolution urging our US Government to halt deportation of Elvira and other Mexican nationals who are parents of US Citizens children.

On May 3, 2007, Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) introduced H.R. 2182, which would grant legal immigrant status, with the possibility of applying for permanent residence status, to Arellano as well as to thirty-three other people. Congress referred the bill to the House Committee on the Judiciary and presently has not moved out of committee level.

At Last! Illegal Migra gone!

Congratulations! To all feeling happy and proud we got rid of an illegal immigrant who crossed twice our borders and who used someone else’s SSN to get a job.

I believe in the rule of law.  I do not approve violations to our laws.  Never the less, I wonder why people keep coming back to our country after being kicked out (deported, if you wish).

What lures them into the US?  Is it our Constitution loophole regarding citizenship?  Is it that getting jobs and a roof is a piece of cake?  Is it that the living conditions abroad are detrimental and ours are panacea?  Is it this is their way of reclaiming previously owned lands?  Is it that their nature incline them to violate and disrespect law and order?  Is it because that is what a corrupt, an arrogant, defiant, thieve and filthy individual do for a living?  Is it they are lazy and impatience thus the reason for avoiding red tape?  Is it all of the above and much more?

OR, is it that our borders are porous and weak, our laws aren’t enforced, and we don’t have in place a fast ‘n easy tax ID verification, or is it that we have a whole bunch of hypocrites that due to their greed hire them for cheap labor and/or provide a roof to them?

The problem is not the aliens, or their race, or their idiosyncrasy, or their nature.  The problem is US.  Indeed, I meant to say that the immigration problem is in us, actually inside our minds, is our attitude, specifically our hypocrisy.  I also meant to say United States, our country, particularly our country’s security.  In essence, the core of the immigration problem is our lack of absolute border control, “the lure”, law enforcement, and lack of a compulsory biometric Tax ID for everybody.

Let be honest.  I agree Elvira Arellano deportation was very overdue.  We have to agree that she was not supposed to be able to get back into the US in the first place and we have to agree that we were able to found her once again in the US due to an internal security sweep at her workplace.  Therefore, Elvira Arellano is not the problem.  The problem is our broken systems and we.

Allow me to add, that I consider what we did to Elvira Arellano an inhumane atrocity.  We lured her in, took advantage of her, and kicked her butt out.  After she was sentenced and put in 3-year probation, she got support from her community.  Listen very carefully, a community empathized with her and supported her.  Her community premised on the exercise of their wisdom and charity, took the economic burden and the big responsibility of caring for her and her born US citizen son. 

What we do about that?  We accused the community of having a political agenda and of staging a victim’s drama.  Then we start a vilifying campaign against her.  It is ridiculous to believe her Pastor had an agenda and thus staging a drama of whatever reasons we are capable to think of.

The reason why Elvira Arellano came back after being deported and insisted in staying in the US is her illusory belief and conviction that she can have a better life in the United States.  This illusion is insane.  Knowing how we are, I tend to believe these people are brainwashed, hypnotize or masochists.  Because life here is tough, very hard, and the way we treat each other is bad … and the sentiments toward anything alien are even worst.  

What about her “anchor-child”?  Unless we change our Constitution, people born in US jurisdiction are US Citizens.  Therefore, Elvira Arellano’s son, Saul Arellano is a gift from God due to … you name it … I prefer to think due to her humanity or weakness if you prefer.  Because I cannot think of a logical reason why should I get pregnant when my own life is at risk, living in such a hostile environment against me, forced to live in the shadows and in constant fear of being caught at any unexpected moment.  I mean, is overwhelming,  an ordeal, a torture.  If life were hard already, why would I complicate it even more by getting pregnant?  The only way I rationalize this insanity is that the lure or the availability of jobs offered by unscrupulous greedy employers, is very abundant and the immigrant’s illusion of a better life in this paradise is so great that totally outweighs any possibility of making a life in their country of origin.

Our Father who arts in Havens … Can we forgive our trespassers?  Are the crimes committed by illegal immigrant and convicted felon Elvira Arellano so outrageous, therefore not deserving any favorable consideration from our broken government system even in light that there is a little religious community that do sees merits in Elvira’s case?  Are her crimes unpardonable or at least suspend-able?

The Bottom Line is that we have to give ourselves a pad to our backs for successfully kicking Elvira Arellano’s butt back to her country to suffer the consequences of her own actions and decisions and to take this a lesson not only to her but to all of her kind.  That is exactly what we are going to do to the rest of them.  This filth has to respect the sovereignty of our country.

My friends, if you truly believe the above paragraph is sound, then you are as insane as the illegal immigrants who believe they can make a better life in the land of the free and the home of the brave.  Why?  Because the illegal immigration problem is not due because of who they are or come from.  It is due to our lack of absolute border security, the hypocrisy of many greedy opportunists, and the apathy of our government.  Trust me, I do not want to have any more cases like Elvira Arellano’s case, but I have a heart, I am no monster, and what we did to this women was an injustice.  May the Almighty and Creator have mercy on us.
